The underlying problem
for many of todays health complaints are
adrenal fatigue
and exhaustion
caused by stress
and diet.
The adrenal glands
produce several different hormones that regulate our body.
One function is to produce our stress hormones such as
cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine in times of stress
(fight or flight mode). Unfortunately, constant stress can
cause an over production of these stress hormones, which
interferes with the production of our serotonin, melatonin,
estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, insulin, growth
hormones and DHEA.
Prolonged stress can
eventually deplete and exhaust the adrenal glands, which
interferes with their normal function of:
-
Blood sugar and lead
to weight gain, cravings, low blood sugar
-
Digestive function
and lead to food allergies, bloating, leaky gut,
irritable bowel problems.
-
Disrupt normal
thyroid function and cause fatigue, weight gain, hair
loss, low body temperature.
-
It can affect our
reproductive hormones and cause PMS, hot flashes, loss
of libido.
-
It can affect liver
function and interfere with normal detoxification and
cause allergies, headaches, acne.
-
It will weaken your
immune system and leave us vulnerable to infections.
-
It can create
chemical imbalances associated with depression, anxiety
and insomnia.
-
It can disturb the
fluids in our body and cause high blood pressure and
cardiovascular problems.
The affects of adrenal
fatigue and exhaustion are far reaching and can be the root
cause of so many health complaints, because stress depletes
our adrenals. This is why you always need to nourish and
support your adrenal glands.
