There are literally thousands of weight loss programs on the market! Most "work," if just losing a few pounds is
your goal. However, what’s happening to your body during and after taking the products and following the
regimen? Here are a few of the problems we’ve seen . . .

Starvation – only works for the short run. You will typically lose a lot of fluid and muscle mass. Losing lean
mass makes it even harder to lose fat, because muscle burns a lot of calories – the more muscle you lose, the
more you impair your ability to burn fat.

Stimulants – most weight loss pills suppress your appetite in some way. Many of the chemicals in these
products can cause health problems. Again, just eating less is not the solution.

Ingredients – many meal replacements and diet meals are filled with ingredients that aren’t good for your body.
Many of these products contain ingredients that are counterproductive to weight loss and overall health. Many
are made from inexpensive and low quality synthetic ingredients that have the tendency to create food sensitivities and digestive problems. For example, one of the top-selling meal replacements contains sugar as its first ingredient! Add to that; hydrogenated oil, Aspartame (artificial sweetener), soy, highly processed milk and more than a dozen chemical additives.

After examining many of the other top-selling replacements, we were really disappointed! We found things like
soy, calcium caseinate, milk solids, synthetic vitamins, trans fats and sweeteners like Aspartame, Acesulfame K
and Sucralose.

Research shows that 75% of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related complaints!

The connections between stress and physical health are undeniable. Studies have found links between acute and/or chronic stress and a wide variety of health issues, including:

Many studies suggest that stress may cause the body to deposit more fat in the abdomen, which increases the
risk of heart disease. This is especially important, because fat located in the abdomen behaves differently than
fat in other areas.

It makes sense, because the hormones produced while you are in the 'fight or flight mode' tend to route fat to
the midsection.


The effects of stress are far reaching and impact many facets of our health. Believe it or not, stress and weight gain go hand-in-hand! More stress in your life can mean weight gain -- especially in the mid-section.

When your body senses stress, it produces more stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline), which affect how you burn calories. For example, when you are under stressful conditions, your body will burn more lean muscle and carbohydrates and less fat. The result is retention of body fat, which is the opposite of what most people are trying to accomplish! Stress takes your body out of the fat-burning mode!

Here are a few indicators that will tell you if you are burning the wrong fuel . . .

  • Are you fatigued much of the time?
  • Do you have cravings?
  • Is it hard for you to concentrate and focus?
  • Inability to lose weight?
  • Digestive difficulties?
  • Do you wake up at night & have a hard time going back to sleep?
  • Having trouble building muscle tone?
  • Difficulty with PMS/menopause?

These symptoms also indicate that you may have another issue to be concerned about . . . adrenal fatigue or exhaustion.
